Fort Erie includes the villages of Crystal Beach, Ridgeway and Stevensville each with something unique to offer. The picturesque village of Ridgeway takes its name from the limestone ridge which runs through it from north to south. Crystal Beach was named for the clear crystal like waters of Lake Erie formerly home to the famous Crystal Beach Amusement park which is remembered fondly by locals and tourists alike.

The centre of the Stevensville community is the intersection of Stevensville Road and Main Street. Stevensville is home to several small shops and restaurants, a feed mill, ACG Canada, DMI (a wind turbine tower manufacturer) and Nomad Drum Cases. The latter manufactures cases for drummers, which are exported globally. The community is also home to Safari Niagara, a 100-acre (0.40 km2) location featuring numerous exotic animals. Stevensville is the birthplace of James L Kraft, inventor of processed cheese and founder of the multimillion dollar J.L. Kraft & Bros. Company, which later became Kraft Foods Inc.

The shoreline of Lake Erie provide a back drop for year round recreation and enjoyment. Lake Erie is the smallest of the Great Lakes in volume and spans 388 km (241 mi) across and 92 km (57 mi) from north to south. The depth of the lake is approximately 20 m (62 ft) feet, allowing it to heat up in the summer and freeze in the winter. Sport fishers can enjoy a day on the lake casting for walleye and yellow perch while its sandy beaches provide summertime fun for all.
