Media Release Niagara Association of REALTORS® April Market Report May 5th, 2016, Niagara – The Niagara Association of REALTORS® (NAR) reported 895 property sales processed through the NAR Multiple Listing Service (MLS®) system in April. This represents a 20.3% increase in sales over April of last year. The residential average sale price of $303,805 was 8.8% higher than last April. The average days on market decreased from 52 to 41 in the residential freehold market and from 87 to 78 in the condominium market. “The trend of fewer listings and increased sales continued in April,” said Carolyn Bones-Poley, CEO, Niagara Association of REALTORS®. “The average sale price has also increased from this same time period in 2015.” “The residential market in Niagara continues to be hot, said Niagara Association of REALTORS®, Patrick Dummitt. “Average days on market continues to decrease with the average now being 41 days.” The Niagara Association of REALTORS® (NAR) was established in 2002 after an amalgamation of three area boards including the St. Catharines District Real Estate Board, the Niagara Falls-Fort Erie Real Estate Board and the Welland District Real Estate Board. NAR represents more than 965 real estate brokers and sales representatives in Niagara. Members of the association use the REALTOR® trademark, which identifies them as real estate professionals who subscribe to a strict code of ethics. The association operates the local MLS® in partnership with surrounding local associations in Southern Ontario.
